A handful of new tracks from Miami’s Sunday Creature. Love love love this duo, wish they’d get a drummer tho -i
I’m sure you’ve heard that Rainbow Danger Club are losing their guitarist and singer, Mr. Munson and that Adam ‘Flacco’ Gaensler is taking that tiny guitar he always takes on picnics to Jakarta. So they be throwing down a mad block party and having a heap of bands come shake their dicks on the…
Slink Rat interview Nichols, Shanghai bassist extraordinaire. He also points out the importance of differing color values when overlaying text on a background. Very important.
New album from Shanghai-based hip-hop group Exquisite Delegates
New album from Shanghai-based post-punk group Fei Ma. It’s slightly trippy, dreamy sometimes, and also finds time to rock hard. Solid.
A few photos from MOTO’s extra show at Yuyintang last night, as they wrap up their China tour next week. Playing with them in these photos are drummer Chris Ginn and guitarist Gil Brunhoeffer, aka 老毕 (Lao Bi). Along with guitarist/vocalist Chachy, these Shanghai-based musicians are the ones who made this tour happen. Simply by contacting MOTO and asking nicely.
Want a band to tour your country? Get in touch and see what you can accomplish.
Chris plays drums in Hu Jia Hu Wei and guitar in Spill Your Guts. Gil plays guitar in Gou Shen. Chachy plays guitar and sings in Round Eye.
Youtuber SangueAngelos uploaded a sweet video of himself hitting the trails in our Cycling Flannel. Looks like he’s been putting it through the paces! We’ve still got some left in our store if you want one for yourself.
Souvenirs, the brand-new album from Shanghai-based epic-indie band Rainbow Danger Club, is once again a journey-in-a-box. They’ve mastered the art of transportation-in-music. This album is at once ethereal, glorious, and triumphant, while at the same time very real and approachable. Listen posthaste. -i
rghayat-i asked: What's your fave black ink for screenprinting? (Does the choice differ depending on the image/mesh?) (P.S. That Howl print is ace.)
Heh, I have no idea. I just use whatever’s available in the shop when I pop in.
The difference for me is printing on paper vs. shirts. Paper’s cake, shirts are a little trickier. We finally found an opaque white ink that can be printed directly on dark fabric in one pass, so expect some black tees with this summer’s line :)
And I’m glad you’re digging the new piece! Thanks again. -i
Prints are now available of my “Cannibal Dynamo” tribute to Allen Ginsberg’s Howl! Only 12 made, of which 8 are currently offered for sale at our store. Happy birthday to the instigator of the beat generation. -i
My tribute to Allen Ginsberg and his epic poem “Howl” for the poet’s birthday on Monday. I’ll print up around 10 of them this weekend, and they’ll be up on our store by the big day. Black ink on green or purple paper — which would you prefer? -i
Moloch whose mind is pure machinery! Moloch whose blood is running money! Moloch whose fingers are ten armies! Moloch whose breast is a cannibal dynamo! Moloch whose ear is a smoking tomb!
